ThotWave’s New Healthcare Analytics Competency Model© Bridges Gaps in Analytics Talent Development

ThotWave today announced the latest release of the Healthcare Analytics Competency Model©—a robust methodology which can be used to build analytics competencies, enabling healthcare leaders and their teams to make smart, data-driven decisions that transform patient care and improve organizational outcomes.

McKinsey’s Big Data Report notes that by 2018, 1.5 million data-savvy business analysts will be needed across North America. However, before ThotWave’s development of the Healthcare Analytics Competency Model, there lacked an enterprise-wide solution to assess analytics capabilities within healthcare organizations and provide an actionable development path for large teams.

As we see a shift toward value-based care models in healthcare, data is playing a critical role in every decision an organization makes—from behind-the-scenes financial matters to tailored treatment plans for every patient. The Healthcare Analytics Competency Model© offers healthcare leaders an opportunity to assess the analytical capabilities of their teams and establish a path for career growth among existing talent. In doing so, they can bridge the gap between skills and staff, resulting in improved patient care and organizational efficiency. ThotWave is offering this latest release of the Healthcare Analytics Competency Model© as part of a Talent Development Program for both individuals and healthcare organizations that want to improve their analytical capabilities.

This program includes the ThotWave Healthcare Analytics Skills Assessment and Interest Inventory© to measure current competency levels across nine healthcare analytics knowledge domains. Gap reports highlight improvement opportunities for individuals as well as the aggregate needs facing teams as they transition from their current capabilities to an ideal future state.
