Tagg Romney, the eldest son of GOP nominee Mitt Romney, had an interview with North Carolina radio host Bill Lumaye on Wednesday (October 17, 2012). The grandson of George Romney shared that he did not like it when President Barack Obama called his dad a liar during the second presidential debate. He even joked about wanting to jump out of his seat and “take a swing at” the president at the Tuesday’s debate. “Jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the stage and take a swing at him,” Tagg Romney said when asked about what it was like to hear Obama accused his father of dishonesty. “But you know you can’t do that because, well, first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him, but also because that’s the nature of the process.” 42-year-old big brother Tagg Romney also revealed in the interview that his dad Mitt Romney suffered from severe nerves before the debates.
Tagg Romney is the eldest son of Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
The grandson of George Romney reportedly took on a leading role in his father’s campaign after several embarrassing missteps over the summer.
Tagg Romney spoke to former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton during the Republican National Convention at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.
Tagg Romney had an interview with a North Carolina radio station, where he admitted that his father was not immune to pre-debate anxiety. “He’s terrified before he gets out there!” He said. “Terrified’s too strong a word. But you know, he’s like anybody — he gets butterflies a little bit. And then once he’s in it, two or three minutes, he’s forgotten about the nervousness.”
Tagg Romney is 42 years old and he is also the partner in a private-equity company.
